Simon Blanchard, Chief Technology Officer, Pera People Science
Simon leads the technology team at Pera. Simon's career spans 30 years across Europe and Asia. Before joining Pera Simon co-founded yaean design in Shanghai and Hong Kong, where he served as Chairman and CTO. Prior to that he was a Department Head at Philips Research, leading research in the fields of optical storage and digital television. Simon loves inventing, programming, and his guitar. He's been programming since BASIC on a ZX Spectrum was considered high-tech and has been using Django since it had to be checked out of a Subversion repository.
Wagging HubSpot’s tail
This talk is about how we moved our corporate web site from HubSpot to self-hosted Wagtail on AWS Kubernetes. We will cover why we chose Wagtail, the engineering decisions and challenges in our setup and offer recommendations for others on a similar path. From a designer and user point of view we will compare the Wagtail experience to other CMSs we have experience working with.
