Joost is the Product Designer for Pera. As many designers, his career started as a junior for a design agency, where he quickly found his real passion; designing digital interfaces and interactions. At the same Joost started writing the html and css for these web designs, to have a greater understanding of what impacts the development time of a website. This grew to a passion for design systems and component libraries, which was also necessary to design the CMS for the agency he worked for at that time.
Wagging HubSpot’s tail
This talk is about how we moved our corporate web site from HubSpot to self-hosted Wagtail on AWS Kubernetes. We will cover why we chose Wagtail, the engineering decisions and challenges in our setup and offer recommendations for others on a similar path. From a designer and user point of view we will compare the Wagtail experience to other CMSs we have experience working with.
