When is the event?

The code sprint is scheduled for Wednesday 12th and Thursday 13th June 2024.

The conference is Friday 14th June 2024.

Where is the event located?

Wagtail Space NL Code Sprint is at the Four Digits office, Jansbinnensingel 26, 6811 AL Arnhem, The Netherlands.

Wagtail Space NL Conference is at the Posttheater, Rosendaalsestraat 27, 6824 CA Arnhem, The Netherlands.

What are my public transport options?

Four Digits is a 10-minute walk from Arnhem Central Station.

Posttheater is located right behind the Velperpoort train station and the associated bus station.

Is parking available at the venue?

There is no parking availability at the Posttheater. It's advisable for attendees to check local parking options beforehand.

Posttheater is next to Station Velperpoort, so very accessible by public transport.

What is the conference schedule?

The conference day begins at 09.30 with a check-in and welcome, leading into a series of talks and lightning talks starting from 10.00. Each talk is either 15 or 20 minutes long, with lightning talks capped at 5 minutes. Specific timings for each session and breaks will be provided, and attendees are encouraged to network during these intervals.

Is the event single-track or are there different session types?

The event follows a single-track format. We strive to offer a diverse range of topics and maintain a pleasant rhythm, including ample breaks. These breaks are designed to provide sufficient time for networking.

Additionally, if you're interested in training and collaborative coding, we invite you to participate in the code sprint.

What is included in the ticket price?

For the Code Sprint, priced at €46,–, participants will enjoy a comfortable venue, meals, and a social event, along with the opportunity to connect with the Wagtail community and engage in activities suitable for all levels from beginners to experts.

The Conference ticket, priced at €62,–, includes valuable insights from Wagtail core developers and industry experts, opportunities to meet and connect with the Wagtail community, as well as inclusive lunch and refreshments.

If you opt for the combined Code Sprint and Conference ticket, you benefit from all the above, plus a discounted rate and more time to connect with a diverse group of professionals.

Are there any discounts available?

Yes, there is an early bird discount available. You can find the discount code on the ticket page.

Additionally, there is a discounted rate if you choose to attend both the code sprint and the conference, with the combined ticket price.

Why is Wagtail Space NL now a paid event?

Wagtail Space NL is now a paid event to prevent overbooking and reduce no-shows, minimizing waste, particularly in catering. The fee will improve event organization and enhance the experience for dedicated attendees.

Will there be networking opportunities?

Yes, Wagtail Space NL provides ample networking opportunities. The event is designed not just for learning and skill development, but also for connecting with fellow Wagtail CMS enthusiasts, developers, and experts. Breaks during the conference and the social event at the code sprint are perfect times for attendees to engage in meaningful discussions, exchange ideas, and foster professional connections.

Are there social events or mixers planned?

The code sprint is an excellent opportunity to interact more casually and network in a relaxed setting. We celebrate the sprint with a social event. Details will be provided during the sprint itself.

The conference provide plenty of wide schedualed breaks that allow to connect with your peers.

What is the Code of Conduct?

The Code of Conduct for Wagtail Space NL is simple: "Be nice", adhering to the Golden Rule of treating others as you wish to be treated. We ensure a respectful environment and have trust persons for assistance. Attendees who don't comply may be denied access to the event.

What health and safety measures are in place?

In the context of COVID-19: All travellers can enter the Netherlands without entry restrictions due to COVID-19. There are no COVID-19 restrictions in place.

The general advice: stay at home as long as you feel ill.

Are there recommended hotels nearby?

Arnhem has numerous hotels and guesthouses suitable for varying budgets. Arnhem is a quite compact town. Advice is to consult your route planner to estimate travel times.

Please note: due to the Eagels concert. Hotels are hard to find. Nijmegen is a cheaper option and you can take the train for about € 4.90 a single trip. Walking distance between our venue and Central Train station is about 10 minutes max.

Are meals provided during the event?

Yes, lunch, refreshments and drinks are included in the ticket price. The day ends at 18:00. So diner is not included.

Can dietary restrictions be accommodated?

Yes, we make sure there are vegetarian options are available. If you are vegan or have other dietary restrictions, please reach out and we do our best to accomodate you.

Is the venue wheelchair accessible?

Yes. Please let us know beforehand, so we can reserve you a dedicated spot.

Are there any provisions for attendees with disabilities

Is following Wagtail Space online possible?

Wagtail Space NL is exclusively an in-person event. We plan to record the talks and publish them on YouTube later, but live online participation is not available.

What kind of projects will be worked on during the sprint?

The projects at the code sprint are participant-driven. Attendees can choose to work on a variety of projects including Wagtail Core code, third-party projects, or even their personal projects.

A sprint document will be available to guide the projects. While it’s beneficial to come prepared with an idea of what you’d like to work on, you can also have a rewarding experience by being flexible and going with the flow of the sprint.

Do I need to be an experienced developer to participate?

No, participants of all skill levels and job types are welcome at the code sprint. The event is inclusive and values the diverse contributions that each individual can bring to the Wagtail ecosystem.

Will there be mentors or leaders for the sprint projects?

Yes, there will be experienced individuals including core team members and prominent community figures present at the code sprint. These experts will act as mentors, leaders, and trainers offering guidance and assistance.
